Doing Our Part is a new University Park campus initiative formulated with the purpose of providing students with opportunities for serving communities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Doing Our Part is based around the idea that people have a desire within themselves to help others and alleviate human suffering in the world.  Regardless of a person's background, upbringing, or lifestyle, most can sense the importance of helping those who are less fortunate than themselves.  Doing Our Part is built on the foundation of “Global Strategic Alliance,” whose mission is to provide “strategic solutions to human suffering.”  Global Strategic Alliance has provided opportunities for service to the State College community and beyond for many years, including disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina, aid for a children’s home in Belize, and work in two dozen countries for more than 20 years.  Through our partnership with Global Strategic Alliance, Doing Our Part will provide students with practical learning experiences through hands-on service, solution development, implementation and evaluation.  Doing Our Part hopes to accomplish both personal and societal transformation by providing an avenue for economic development, humanitarian aid, and social and economic solutions, which will produce long term results for better communities across the globe.
